Ryan has been involved with Microsoft's emerging technologies as a beta tester and community evangelist since Microsoft's PDC in 2003. Most recently, Ryan was selected to participate in Microsoft’s "Artist in Residence" program, a program highlighting influential designers innovating with Microsoft’s Expression.

Ryan draws from his expertise in Computer Science and Art to tackle convergent projects where digital design touches both brand and product space. Intimately involved in both the design and development of a solution, Ryan seeks to engage people in meaningful ways by instilling software with a touch of art. Not to be overshadowed by his accomplishments in visual design, Ryan recently served as a technical reviewer for "Programming Windows Presentation Foundation", published by O'Reilly.

Prior to thirteen23, Ryan consulted with a number of large design firms, acting as a lead interactive developer on UI projects in both the consumer and the enterprise space.

Ryan holds a B.A. in History from the University of Texas at Austin.
